A window into the Gan: video!

Finally, a little glimpse of Hebrew in the Gan. This lesson utilizes pictures children made the day before - they each created at least one animal made up of the parts of these three animals.

In this lesson, I spread their creations out on the rug, and gave clues in Hebrew, asking if children could locate the animal or animals I was describing. Here's the clip - I added subtitles for those of you who do not speak Hebrew.

The second video is an author share from yesterday's writing workshop. We are just about to end our first unit, writing personal narrative. At the end of each session, an author shares his/her piece and gets a compliment from the class. Eden shared her story about a car accident that she had been involved in the day before - (everyone is safe!) - and it turned out to be a wonderful way for her to let her whole classroom community know what happened and how she was feeling. The audio is a little soft, but I'm including the entire story because it was such a special moment in the life of the Gan.

And in case you missed this on LGA's facebook page, here's a slideshow of the Gan working with their buddies on the Hour of Code.

More news coming soon - Shabbat Shalom!

  1. Thank you Amy. Eden's writing and sharing the story with her classmates and you was the best possible way for her to cope with the accident. And thanks G-d everyone is safe!
